Residents of block, 686B at Woodlands Drive 73 found their tap water yellowish and never expect that a decomposed dead women found floating in one of the eight water tanks on the roof top which serves residents tap water who were living in that HDB block.
The police were informed about the incident and the dead body was removed from the water tank shortly after they arrived. The 27 year old Bangladeshi man was arrested by the police at about 10.40 am which they believed he have been in an intimate relationship with her.
The town council stopped water supply from all eight rooftop tanks as soon as they were informed about the gruesome discovery, and provided residents with alternate sources of water at the void deck. The town council is currently flushing, washing, sterilising the tanks and distribution pipes. Water supply should be restored by the previous midnight. Some residents did not know that cause of the incident at first and were shocked about the food they had eaten using the tap water to cook and wash after they had heard the news.
